ML Researcher at Stanford / Google Brain
At Google Brain, I am a Staff Research Scientist and co-founder/lead of the ML for Systems team, where my research focus has been on developing deep reinforcement approaches to problems in computer systems, particularly chip design. My close collaborators include Jeff Dean, Quoc V. Le, and Azalia Mirhoseini.
At Stanford, I am a 2nd Year PhD student advised by Prof. Chris Manning. My research is supported by an NSF Fellowship, and is focused on Natural Language Processing, particularly developing better representations of the meaning of words and language.
Previously, I graduated from MIT with a Bachelors in Computer Science, a Bachelors in Linguistics, and a Masters of Computer Science. I built a Mandarin-speaking dialogue system for my Masters thesis in the Spoken Language Systems Group in MIT CSAIL.
I've given high-profile keynotes in Mandarin Chinese, and my work has been featured in numerous media outlets, such as MIT Technology Review and IEEE Spectrum.
For fun, I like to learn human languages and I speak fluent Mandarin, Japanese, and French, as well as some German, Italian, Korean, and Spanish.
